Little curl

I am certainly not good at blogging every week. I seem to be very sporadic. I have been very busy at the library. I was able to get some extra hours last week. :)

Monday morning I woke up with this thought that I have not thought in a long time. It was “I don’t want to go to school.” What?! Where did that come from? I didn’t have to go to work until the afternoon and the library is nothing like school.  That did get me thinking though. I have been out of high school for five years this June.
Now, I know five years is nothing but the time has flown by.  I graduated, didn’t take a summer and started taking classes at the college two weeks after high school.  I kept going right up until I received my associate’s degree. Then, I was lucky enough to find the library job, where I have been working for almost two years.

Grandma's yellow rose.

I was telling a coworker that I have been trying to let my bangs grow and there is a little curl right in the middle of my forehead that messes with keeping my bangs straight.  She smiled and told me a little poem that I just had to share.

There was a little girl
by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
There was a little girl,
Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good,
She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.

I thought that was the cutest little poem. I hope you enjoyed the poem and have a wonderful Thursday.

  1. I can't believe it has been 5 years since you graduated either! I like the quote.

  2. Hey Katey, Time does go by fast. Enjoy each moment as I can tell you first hand that the 31 years out of school seems like yesterday. Don't worry about the little things, like your curl. Things could be worse. Love always

    1. I know they are worse things than my little curl. :)

  3. Love the photos! Such beautiful flowers!

That is a cute poem, and it sounds familiar. I may have heard it back in high school.
